The Department of Genetics & Genomic Sciences and Scientific Computing & Data are pleased to announce the launch of new data sets hosted on the Data Ark – MarketScan®
The MarketScan® is School-Acquired restrictive data with DUA (Data Use Agreement) required and is limited to faculty members at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
MarketScan® Research Databases (previously from IBM and now it is MerativeTM) provides one of the longest-running and largest collections of proprietary de-identified claims data for privately and publicly insured people in the U.S.
Currently available years analyzed – 2013-2021:
- MarketScan® Commercial Claims and Encounters Database (CCAE) – contains data from active employees, early retirees, COBRA continuees, and dependents insured by employer sponsored plans (i.e., individuals not eligible for Medicare).
- MarketScan® Medicare Supplemental and Coordination of Benefits Database (MDCR) – created for Medicare-eligible retirees with employer-sponsored Medicare Supplemental plans. This database contains predominantly fee-for-service plan data.
Please note, there is no zip level data for the MarketScan® data set.
