Ishikawa lab is looking for a research technician  (full/part time).

Candidate: We are seeking a research lab technician who is highly motivated and possesses excellent organizational skills. The successful candidate will work with lab members and be responsible for assisting with ongoing projects by conducting basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western Blot, Luciferase assay etc), histology/ immunohistochemistry, animal surgery, and lab management. He/she will regularly attend lab meetings and seminars and meet individually with the principal investigator. There are opportunities available for the successful candidate to drive his/her own project, if motivated to do so.

 

Responsibilities: Expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • assisting laboratory staff with research activities such as molecular assays, staining, cell culture, animal studies, and laboratory maintenance
  • overseeing and coordinating ordering and inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents and coordinating the shipping of samples
  • maintenance, cleaning and repair of lab and lab equipment
  • maintaining technical and administrative support for research projects
  • assisting with the preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents
