Ishikawa lab is looking for a research animal technician  (full/part time).

Candidate: We are seeking a research animal technician who is highly motivated and possesses excellent organizational skills. The successful candidate will work with lab members and be responsible for assisting with ongoing projects that use catheter-based and surgical approaches to induce disease models, treat, and evaluate efficacy. He/she will regularly attend lab meetings and seminars and meet individually with the principal investigator. There are opportunities available for the successful candidate to drive his/her own project, if motivated to do so.

 

Responsibilities: Expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting daily animal procedures: anesthesia, monitoring, invasive and non-invasive procedures, recovery, euthanasia, and tissue collection
  • Overseeing and coordinating ordering and inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents and coordinating the shipping of samples
  • Maintenance, cleaning and repair of lab and lab equipment
  • Maintaining technical and administrative support for basic research projects
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents
  • Overseeing and maintaining animal protocols
