Bessy is a current fourth-year medical student at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine. She grew up in the Bronx, NY and earned a BA from Amherst College in Anthropology in 2017. Before joining the research team at the Center for Eosinophilic Disorders, she conducted qualitative research exploring the impact of insurance lapses on the health and well-being of patients with IBD. Bessy is passionate about reducing global healthcare disparities throughout her medical career. Outside of medicine, Bessy enjoys listening to live music, cooking and baking, and exploring the city’s many beautiful parks.
