Talaya holds a Masters of Arts from New York University in Psychology. Before joining the Chehade Lab, she was a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC). While at CUMC, Talaya was the lead coordinator on several clinical trials in the fields of Lung Transplant, Cardiothoracic and Bariatric surgery.

Prior to working at CUMC, Talaya was an Assistant Research Scientist at New York University in Behavioral Psychology. Where she worked on a large, NIH-funded HIV research study, within the College of Nursing at New York University. This study was part of the federal “Seek, Test, Treat and Retain” (STTR) initiative to test innovative ways of finding undiagnosed HIV infection, and not only connecting them to care but, engaging them and retaining them in HIV care. Talaya enjoying working in research and has 9 years of research experience. She has undertaken various roles from conceiving and implementing research projects to the coordination, data entry and writing of research studies. When she is hard at work, Talaya enjoys watching basketball, spending time with her family and shopping.
