The goal of this event was to enhance and transform our patients’ lives by providing information and skills to better manage the social, emotional, and medical aspects of this disease.
To honor National Eosinophil Awareness Week, the MSCED held its first annual Patient Education Day on May 18th, 2018. Topics presented at this event included developing self advocacy in patients with EoE/EGID, meal preparation, reading food labels, 504 plans, working with insurance companies, and long term management of EoE/EGID. Presenters included a chef, dietitian, patient advocate, pediatric gastroenterologist, pediatric allergist, and research scientist.
