We Welcome Highly Motivative Candidates to Apply

Lung Organoid

A postdoctoral position is available to study the mechanisms of human epithelial regeneration and pathogenesis of lung disease, such as injury and repair, infectious disease, and lung cancer, by using human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) derived 3D lung organoids.

Highly motivated PhD and MD/PhD graduates with advanced knowledge and expertise in molecular and cell biology, including stem cell biology, regulation of gene expression, cell signaling, tissue and disease modeling, including primary tissue and cell culture models, are welcome to apply. General knowledge of lung physiology and biology is preferable but not essential.  Experience of in vitro models would be an advantage. Curiosity is the core spirit of the lab. We encourage candidates from other disciplines to apply if you are interested in what we do!

The successful applicant will learn human lung organoid systems and have a strong publication record and an excellent aptitude for research and career development. We are looking for applicants who are collaborative with effective communication skills and enjoy working in a team. Proven capacity to design, execute, and interpret your own experiments is essential.

Applications should include a CV, the contact for three references and a brief statement outlining key areas of expertise and reasons why you would like to join the lab. Informal enquiries can be addressed to Dr. Ya-Wen Chen, Ph.D. (yawen.chen@mssm.edu). The Chen lab is a member of the Black Family Stem Cell Institute, Institute for Airway Sciences, Department of Otolaryngology, and Department of Cell, Developmental & Regenerative Biology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
