Sreekumar’s research focuses on understanding the functional specialization of human dendritic cell subsets. We aim to develop in vitro culture systems for the large scale generation of bonafide human DC subsets from hematopoietic stem cells and exploit the system for understanding DC biology under steady state and in the context of tumor and viral infections. The information will be extrapolated for developing novel DC based vaccines for different disease contexts.
