Mount Sinai Bionutrition Research Core

Introduction:

The Mount Sinai Bionutrition Research Core (MSBRC) will provide comprehensive and cutting-edge support services for nutritional research studies at MSSM. We will offer nutrition assessment, dietary intervention design, data analysis and education. Our core objectives are to facilitate high-quality research, enhance collaborations, and promote evidence-based nutrition interventions to improve patient outcomes. Our mission is to provide institutional support for the study of nutrition in research. We are committed to facilitating collaborative environments that catalyze innovative studies, thereby driving the frontier of nutritional research.

We will provide the following core services:

  • Dietary Assessment: Dietary intake assessment, such as questionnaire-based collection :24 hour Food Recall, Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and Dietary History Questionnaire (DHQ), as well as app-based image assessment and lab-based assessment.
  • Dietary Interventions: Controlled feeding trials, nutrition counseling, and medically tailored meals, to support research studies.
  • Data Collection and Management: Ensure accurate collection and secure storage of dietary data.
  • Data Analysis: Leverage advanced software to provide statistical analysis and interpretation of nutrition-related data.
  • Education and Training: Educational programs and training workshops to support researchers and enhance skills related to nutrition research methodologies, data collection, and analytical techniques.
