Dr Sumnima Singh obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Pakistan and thereafter practiced clinical Cardiology in her home country, Nepal. She then completed her PhD at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia, Portugal. Her doctoral studies focused on the evolutionary impact of loss of the alpha-gal glycan on host-microbe interactions. She recently started in the Swirski lab with a Human Frontier Science Program fellowship to study the role of stress in the modulation of B cell function in cardiovascular disease.
