Training Course: Recognizing Suicidality in Youth Mental Health
One of the biggest barriers in youth suicide prevention is that children often do not say anything, even when they are struggling. Research shows that suicidal behavior is rarely “out of the blue,” but the early signs are frequently missed. This free course was developed to help bridge that gap by providing the tools to recognize warning signs before a crisis occurs.
“Recognizing Suicidality in Youth Mental Health,” based on Dr. Igor Galynker’s research, is designed for parents, caregivers, educators, and anyone who works with young people or seeks to understand and prevent suicide. No clinical background is required.
By the end of the five modules, you will be able to:
• Understand the suicidal mental process and its earlier stages
• Identify common myths about suicide that can get in the way of early action
• Recognize warning signs even when young people do not openly express how they feel
• Recognize harmful self-narratives
• Feel more confident about what to say, what to do, and when to seek professional help
