We use genetics of mouse models to establish causal links between alterations in the PI3K pathway and breast cancer molecular profiling of the tumors to design effective therapies.

PI3K and PTEN in Oncogenesis

Elucidating the role of PI3K signaling in the pathogenesis of breast cancer is a major focus of our lab. Using mouse models and cell lines to study how mutations in different nodes of the PI3K pathway such as PIK3CA and PTEN contribute to tumorgenesis.  We are also trying to identify dependencies of PI3K mutant tumors and explore vulnerabilities for therapeutic gain using small molecule approaches.
