Hanna Alter, MD Study Therapist
Hannah Alter is an attending psychiatrist in the Primary Care Mental Health Integration Clinic and Outpatient Mental Health Clinic at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. She is a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She received her B.A. in Art as well as her medical degree from Yale University. She completed psychiatric residency training and a Public Psychiatry Fellowship at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute. In her role at the VA, Dr. Alter clinically supervises medical students and residents. She designs and teaches didactic coursework, with an interest in psychotherapeutic approaches to psychopharmacology. She is a research team member for a multisite, phase 3 trial on psilocybin-assisted therapy for MDD.
