Rachel Fischer, MD Study Therapist

Dr. Fischer is an outpatient psychiatrist at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center (JJP VAMC) and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She received her medical degree from NYU Langone School of Medicine and completed residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Fischer has extensive experience working with mood and personality disorders, as well as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), in a variety of populations and settings. Trained as a public psychiatrist, Dr. Fischer has done global mental health work in India, Liberia and Nepal as well. She joins Dr. Yehuda’s lab as a study physician following her interest in the development of novel treatments for PTSD.
