Petralia Lab focuses on the development of new statistical methods to enhance the understanding of complex diseases through functional genomics.
Towards this goal, Petralia lab developed various network models to properly characterize the association across markers measured in high throughput data for the identification of key-drivers and data driven pathway activated in disease. These networks can provide functional insight on how genes/proteins interact with each other and enhance our understanding of complex diseases. Petralia Lab research focuses on improving the accuracy of these network models by borrowing information across multiple data types or disease subtypes, and leveraging information from existing databases.
Another focus of the Lab research is to develop proper statistical methods and tools to study tumor/tissue microenvironment based on bulk and single cell profiles.
