MEET DR. LIM:

Dr. Jean Lim is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she leads a research program focused on viral pathogenesis and host–pathogen interactions. She earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health. Combining expertise in virology and immunology, Dr. Lim investigates how immune signaling and leukocyte trafficking receptors influence viral infection and disease outcomes. Her research spans a broad range of viruses, including flaviviruses, paramyxoviruses, coronaviruses, retroviruses, and poxviruses, and aims to uncover mechanisms by which viral infections impact disease outcomes.
