Welcome to the Lim Lab
The Lim laboratory focuses on understanding the pathogenesis of mosquito- and tick-transmitted neurotropic viruses, such as West Nile virus, tick-borne encephalitis virus, dengue virus, and Zika virus. Our research makes use of three major approaches: 1) studies in mouse models of infection; 2) evaluation of human samples from infected individuals (DNA or plasma); and 3) developing ex vivo models of infection using human organoid cultures. Using these approaches, we are able to address questions regarding cell trafficking, cytokine control of infection, and cell-mediated immunity.
