The Volunteer Services program within Dr. Li’s Lab is located in the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The program is an opportunity to gain experience in dementia research, with a particular focus on Cantonese- and Mandarin-speaking older adults. Volunteers support community outreach and recruitment at events across Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, participant contact and scheduling, and administrative and data management work for the studies, and may take informant-report questionnaires under direct supervision. The training experience includes observation of cognitive testing and didactic seminars on how cognitive tests are administered, scored, and interpreted. Where their work supports it, volunteers may contribute to poster or manuscript preparation.

• Preferences: Able to conduct recruitment calls and participant contact in Cantonese or Mandarin, together with fluency in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing)
