Research thrives when conducted under the umbrella of larger research programs. In the past, I have participated as scientific member in the Gates Foundation’s Collaboration for AIDS Vaccine Discovery (CAVD), the VA Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP), and the NIH Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) at NYU. Many, if not all, of the projects in my labs have benefited from these program projects.

Currently, the HIVRAD P01 program, under the leadership of Drs. Susan Zolla-Pazner and Xiangpeng Kong, serves that purpose. My role in the program is to serve as the principal investigator for the Administration Core. This program aims to design novel immunogens to elicit protective antibodies against the V1V2 and V3 loops of the HIV envelope. I am a coauthor of a 2016 paper emanating from this program (29), and I have served as corresponding author on two other papers (30-31).
