Dr. Murray is a principal investigator in the Neurorehabilitation Program. She obtained her BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees at Edith Cowan University, Western Australia, where she also lectured undergraduate and graduate courses. Deciding to focus more on her research, she completed a visiting fellowship at the Burke Neurological Institute, White Plains, New York, a post-doctoral fellow at the Research Foundation of CUNY/College of Staten Island, New York, and held a clinical scientist position at the Qatar Rehabilitation Institute, Doha, Qatar. She brings almost two decades of international experience focused on measuring and normalizing complex imbalances of neuronal excitability in injured spinal circuits. She has expertise in multiple forms of electrical neurostimulation and robotic therapy – she is now leading studies in which these techniques will be combined with drug therapies to maximize clinical benefits for individuals with neurological immobilizing disorders.
