Tanvi completed her Bachelor’s in Life Sciences from the University of Mumbai, India, during which she gained multidisciplinary research experience in biomedical research. She came to the US in 2019 to further enhance her research experience and study brain tumor biology through a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her thesis project was focused on determining the downstream target genes for a transcription factor implicated in GBM cell migration using ChIP-seq in Dr. Nadjeda Tsankova’s Laboratory.
Tanvi is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Cancer Biology training area. Tanvi is studying the water channel protein – AQP4 and its role in GBM associated vasogenic cerebral edema.
