Postdoctoral Fellow, Chemical Genetics of Cell Division and Gene Expression
Laboratory of Robert P. Fisher, Department of Oncological Sciences
Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY USA
The Fisher Lab in the Department of Oncological Sciences of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has open post-doctoral positions to study the control of cell division, regulation of transcription, and coordination between the two processes. Our primary focus is the network of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) that performs essential roles in both pathways in human and yeast cells. We take chemical-genetic approaches to elucidate mechanisms of CDK regulation, and to uncover the functions and targets of specific CDKs that are required for transitions between cell-cycle phases or in coupling transcription to co-transcriptional RNA processing and chromatin modification. The successful applicant(s) will have demonstrated expertise and accomplishments in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology.
