RESEARCH POSITIONS

Post doctoral positions
Funded positions are available for two highly motivated MD or MD/PHD with postdoctoral training (senior scientist) or without (postdoc) to join projects aimed at understanding the mechanisms of stem cell transplant for the treatment of Crohn’s disease. These projects will work to characterize mechanisms of stem cell transplant efficacy and understand the role of specific Crohn’s associated genes in determining the fate of hematopoietic stem cells. The scientists will work in the interpretation of multi-dimensional datasets including metagenomic sequencing of the microbiota, mass cytometry of peripheral and intestinal leukocytes and single cell RNA sequencing. They will work closely with a bioinformatician and research technician to accomplish these aims. Applicants with backgrounds in immunology or gene-editing who are comfortable working with mouse mouse models should submit their CV to louis.cohen@mssm.edu

Bioinformatician
Funded position is available for one highly motivated PHD  with postdoctoral training (senior scientist) or without (postdoc) to join projects as a bioinformatician aimed at understanding the mechanisms of stem cell transplant for the treatment of Crohn’s disease. This project will integrate multidimensional datasets in patients over time during stem cell transplant and will utilize existing datasets at Mount Sinai Hospital. Expertise in gene expression and especially single cell RNA sequencing is desired but not required. The scientist will work closely with post-doctoral fellows, clinicians and technicians in the laboratory. Interested applicants should submit their CV to louis.cohen@mssm.edu

Research technician
Funded position is available for a highly motivated BA/BS or MS with some experience in laboratory science to join a project aimed at understanding the mechanisms of stem cell transplant for the treatment of Crohn’s disease. The project will require working with primary samples from humans including blood, tissue and stool as well as mouse model systems. Previous experience in research techniques related to immunology and molecular biology is a plus but not required. Interested applicants should submit their CV to louis.cohen@mssm.edu
