Louis Cohen, MD
Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology
Louis Cohen, MD MS is an assistant professor in Gastroenterology. Louis is a lifelong Boston sports fan having grown up in Newton, Massachusetts. He went to undergraduate school at the University of Pennsylvania where he began working in clinical research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in their Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center. Louis moved back to Boston for his medical education at Tufts University followed by residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Continuing his goal of caring for patients with IBD he did his gastroenterology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City where Burrill Crohn first described Crohn’s disease years ago. He then began formal training in basic/translational research as part of a program in translational science at Rockefeller University in the laboratory of Sean Brady. Louis continues to care for patients with IBD in his clinic at the Feinstein IBD Center at Mount Sinai and his laboratory focuses on the development of novel live biotherapeutic and cellular therapies for the treatment of Crohn’s disease. He still loves his Boston sports teams along with cooking, exploring restaurants in New York City, skiing and live music
Daniela Guisado, MD
Instructor, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology
Daniela grew up in Dryden, NY and received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University and her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine. Outside of the lab she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and concerts.
Shishir Singh, PhD
Postdoctoral Researcher, Cohen Laboratory
Dr. Singh focuses on the development of novel live biotherapeutics and exploring how human microbial lectins shape mucosal myeloid differentiation. Originally from Varanasi, India, Dr. Singh earned his Bachelor’s degree from Amity University Lucknow, followed by a Master’s from BITS Pilani. He then pursued a PhD at the University of Freiburg in Germany. Outside the laboratory he enjoys traveling, cooking, watching anime, and delving into cultural histories and beliefs.
