2023 Postdoctoral Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
There is an opening for a postdoctoral fellow in the NIH-funded lab of Dr. Jaime Chu at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
The ideal candidate will have first-author publications and hands-on experience in areas that may include liver biology, cell metabolism, biochemistry, and glycobiology. Prior experience in bioinformatics (transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) and animal models of disease (rodents, zebrafish) are preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Independently design and perform experiments with a high degree of complexity and rigor using a wide range of techniques
– Demonstrate flexibility in adapting methods and skills according to evolving project priorities
– Be able to analyze and interpret data from different sources and draw relevant conclusions
– Present results at internal and external meetings
– Contribute to the writing of reports and manuscripts
Provide research assistance in projects using zebrafish and/or rodent models as in vivo tools to examine pathways involved in liver disease
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Science or M.D./Ph.D. with strong experience and background in biochemistry and cell biology
- First-author publication(s)

2023 Research Associate Position at the Icahn School of Medicine
There is an opening for a Research Associate position in the NIH-funded lab of Dr. Jaime Chu at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Provide research assistance in projects using zebrafish and/or rodent models as in vivo tools to examine pathways involved in liver disease
– Genotype, screen, and maintain animal lines
– Maintain lab stock solutions and order reagents
– Previous experience with CRISPR/Cas9 system desired, but not required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Biology/Molecular biology or a related field and relevant research experience.
- Availability to start in Spring/Summer 2023
- Highly desired attributes include:
- Previous experiences in standard molecular biology techniques, such as DNA cloning, PCR, and microinjection
- Excellent time management skills
- Fast-learner, highly motivated, strong work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Those individuals with zebrafish or mouse experience will be given priority, and candidates with relevant experience with other animal models are also encouraged to apply.
