Spinal cord injury (SCI)
In this line of research, we test the mechanisms of action of small molecule agents, in order to develop new lines of drugs that would be used following SCI to reduce the severity of injury.
Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
We investigate the effects of small molecule inhibitors on behavioral traits that resemble TSD in humans, with the ultimate aim of developing oral medications that treat mild TBI-induced psychiatric problems.
Peripheral nerve injury (PNI)
We study the mechanisms by which specific small molecules delay degeneration of the distal nerve stump, with the goal of improving success of surgical repair of damaged peripheral nerves.
Pain
We are researching new mechanism-based small molecules, in order to develop nonaddictive pain relief medication for peripheral nerve injury.
