Induction of Cardiomyocyte Proliferation Using Cell-Specific Modified<\/strong><\/p>\n Cardiomyocytes (CMs) proliferation is a key process in myocardial regeneration and may be an effective approach to treat myocardial infarction and heart failure in mammals. Modified mRNA (modRNA) is a safe, efficient, transient, non-immunogenic, controlled, and highly translatable gene delivery system. As a consequences MI, a significant percentage of the heart cells will die and cannot be regenerated. Using Modified RNA encoded with genes known to inhibit apoptosis, we hope to minimize the cardiomyocyte cell death following MI.
