James <\/b>Murrough<\/b>, MD, PhD<\/b>
<\/b>Investigator, Professor of Psychiatry<\/p>\n
Dr. Murrough conducts clinical and translational research aimed at understanding the biological basis of mood and anxiety disorders in order to point the way towards new, more effective treatments. He received his BSc\u00a0in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University and his Medical degree from Tufts University in Boston. He completed his residency training in Psychiatry and a research fellowship in experimental therapeutics and clinical neuroscience in mood disorders at Mount Sinai. He obtained a PhD in clinical research methodology and biostatistics from Mount Sinai as part of an NIMH Career Development Award. In addition to his research and educational activities, Dr. Murrough maintains an active clinical practice focusing on evidence-based pharmacological treatments for mood and anxiety disorders.<\/p>\n
