_builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and write a statistical analysis plan (SAP) by identifying appropriate and novel statistical methods to analyze each endpoint.<\/li>\n<li>Write all statistical sections for protocols and collaborate on protocol development before submission to the Disease Focus Group (DFG), PRMC and DSMC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To develop an interventional clinical trial protocol <a href=\"https:\/\/erap.mssm.edu\/Public\/CancerRequestForServices.aspx\">submit request<\/a> for \u2018protocol development\u2019<\/p>\n<p>A statistician will be assigned based on the following DFG designation<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/files\/ISMMS\/Assets\/Research\/IHCDS\/ISMMS-research-IHCdelivery-tci-2col-685x375.jpg\" alt=\"Chart showing the review process for investigator initiated protocols\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following are itemized steps of the BDW review process:<\/p>\n<p>1. All Interventional Investigator initiated research protocols must be reviewed by the Biostatistics Design Workshop (BDW) prior to submission to the DFG <a href=\"https:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/files\/ISMMS\/Assets\/Research\/BDW-WAIVED.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with exception for protocols that underwent scientific and biostatistical review by one of the following organizations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2. Collaborators should submit requests for statistical support for &#8216;<strong>PROTOCOL DEVELOPMENT&#8217;<\/strong>\u00a0through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/erap.mssm.edu\/Public\/CancerRequestForServices.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">service request form<\/a><\/p>\n<p>3. DFG biostatistician is assigned and develops statistical sections of protocol<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. Only Interventional (I-IIT) require BDW (DFG and PRMC) approval and need to contain the <a href=\"https:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/files\/ISMMS\/Assets\/Research\/IHCDS\/Essentia_Elements_%20Protocol.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Essential Elements of a Protocol<\/a>\u00a0(industry provided protocol template), or be in proper PRMC format:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/files\/ISMMS\/Assets\/Research\/IHCDS\/PRMCProtocolTemplate.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Protocol Template<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">b. The IRB format (HRP-503a) is NOT an acceptable format for I-IITs<\/p>\n<p>4. DFG Biostatistician submits protocol for BDW review when it is deemed ready by biostatistician and PI<\/p>\n<p>5. Once a protocol is approved by BDW, it can be presented at DFG<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. On BDW approval, all track changes are accepted<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">b. A version number and date of BDW approval is added to the protocol<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">c. The BDW approved protocol is emailed to the PI, DFG Chairman and PRMC administrators<\/p>\n<p>6. After DFG approval, the protocol can be submitted for PRMC review (contact Venesha White <a href=\"mailto:Venesha.white@mssm.edu\">Venesha.white@mssm.edu<\/a>\u00a0for information on this submission process)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Trial Monitoring&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing statistical programs for data monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Conduct <a href=\"https:\/\/iddi.com\/our-solutions\/biostatistics-services\/dmc-idmc-dsmb\/\">Interim analyses<\/a> for futility, efficacy, and safety as specified in the protocol and make recommendations for decision making about stopping or continuing the trial.<\/li>\n<li>Review of electronic data capture forms developed by CTO in RedCAP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Trial Conduct and Analysis&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform analysis outlined in SAP using state of the art software tools.<\/li>\n<li>Generate tables, figures and summaries of results for publication or presentation.<\/li>\n<li>Co-author manuscripts including drafting a statistical methods section and critically revising the entire manuscript with special consideration on interpretation of statistical results.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to reviewers&#8217;
