Many of us are struggling with anxiety, loneliness, boredom, and fluctuating mood during this challenging time. It is easier to cope with these feelings when we reach out to others in similar situations, remain socially active, and seek help.
We encourage you to sign up for weekly Zoom support groups and/or patient-initiated social groups (e.g., book clubs, online gaming, exercise groups, other hobbies, etc.) using the links below. Speaking with others provides an emotional relief, and engaging in fun social activities provides a helpful distraction. If you need, you can also sign up to speak one-on-one with a member of our team.
Virtual (online) support groups are a good opportunity to connect with other people and discuss strategies for coping during this challenging time. Groups have two leaders (e.g., psychologist, social worker) and about five members. We meet for an hour each week on Zoom. Please sign up here.
It’s natural to feel lonely or bored when you have to stay home, but we can find novel ways to remain socially-connected and mentally stimulated. We are starting patient-initiated virtual (online) social groups focused on hobbies and activities that you may enjoy. For instance, can meet via Zoom for a book club, game night, happy hour, art projects, music, or many other activities. Let us know if (a) you are interested in being in a social group and (b) if you are interested in leading a group. After a number of groups are proposed, we will send a list of available options to persons interested in group membership. Please sign up here.
TIME TO TALK
Sometimes we need to speak with someone one-on-one. Please sign up here if you would like to speak with a member our team over the phone.
