We are a collaborative research team within the Center for Behavioral Oncology of the Department of Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. We are led by Principal Investigator Dr. Jamilia R. Sly.
Our work is centered on understanding disparities in cancer incidence and mortality. Our mission is to develop innovative interventions to help reduce cancer inequities among medically underserved and vulnerable populations. Our current initiatives are focused on piloting a streamlined, integrated cancer screening program to the community by partnering with residents of the New York City Housing Authority. We are also working to implement this “one stop shop” cancer screening approach with the Institute for Family Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center network.
We work closely with the Miller Laboratory, led by Principal Investigator Dr. Sarah Miller.
