Her current research focuses on generating a deep knowledge of the molecular mechanisms driving biliary tract cancers with the ultimate goal of identifying novel therapeutic targets.

Daniela was born in Catanzaro (Italy) in 1981. She received her Ph.D. from the University of the Studies of Milan in December 2008. She then joined Prof. Josep M Llovet´s lab for her postdoctoral studies, first at the Hospital Clinic (Barcelona, Spain), and then at ISMMS (NY, USA). She was promoted to Assistant Professor (Research track) in October 2015 and to the investigator track in October 2019. During her years of training, she has acquired considerable genomic experience in the analysis of large human datasets and extensive molecular knowledge of the most common primary liver cancers.

Education and training
PhD in Biotechnology.
