We are a collaborative research team within the Center for Behavioral Oncology of the Department of Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. We are led by Principal Investigator Dr. Sarah J. Miller.<\/p>\n

Our work is centered on understanding disparities in cancer incidence and mortality. Our mission is to develop innovative interventions to help reduce cancer inequities among medically underserved and vulnerable populations. Our current work aims to improve colorectal cancer screening uptake at the Institute for Family Health (IFH), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) network, through developing and testing a digital patient navigation toolkit. We are also working to bring a streamlined “one stop shop” cancer screening program to IFH, as well as to community members by outreaching to residents in New York City Housing Authority housing. Previous initiatives have focused on piloting an app to improve Latinx patients’ screening colonoscopy rates and other digital health work.<\/p>\n

We work closely with the Sly Laboratory<\/a>, led by Principal Investigator Dr. Jamilia Sly.<\/p>\n
