Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death in the United States and regular screening can help aid in the early detection and prevention of colorectal cancer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We are conducting a multi-site study that aims to improve colorectal cancer screening uptake among patients treated at federally qualified\u00a0health centers (FQHC)s.\u00a0 We have designed a digital navigation toolkit, called eNav, that provides patients with information about colorectal cancer screening, motivational support, decisional support and the ability to request a colorectal cancer screening test from their healthcare team.\u00a0 People who request a screening test will also receive text messages to help them prepare for and complete the screening test (e.g., reminders, instructions on how to complete the test).\u00a0<\/p>\n
We are currently conducting a randomized clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of the eNav toolkit on colorectal cancer screening uptake among patients treated at FQHCs.\u00a0 We are partnering with the Institute for Family Health, an FQHC network providing high quality care to patients across New York City and the mid-Hudson Valley.\u00a0 We are planning to begin enrolling participants to the study in January 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n
