The Clean Room at the Nucleic Acid Production Service (NAPS) contains a biosafety cabinet, bacteria incubator and shaker, thermoblock, a controlled rate freezer-refrigerator and two refrigerated centrifuges. The satellite GLP laboratory space is equipped with controlled -80oC and -20oC freezers and liquid nitrogen storage, a biosafety cabinet, water bath, CO2 incubators, Microscope, a NanoDrop™ UV spectrophotometer, and equipment for nucleic acid electrophoresis and gel imaging (Invitrogen’s E-Gel™ system). All batch-monitored plastic ware and non-perishable reagents are kept in a dedicated storage room inside the facility. The associated, independently locked office space is outfitted with password-protected PC computers, printer and office supplies required for SOP, batch and label generation, record and maintenance.
