The High Performance Computing team has made adjustments so that all users can connect to internal login nodes, thus<strong>\u00a0all users<\/strong>\u00a0will need a VPN account\u00a0<strong>for off-campus login.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For Mount Sinai\u00a0<u>internal<\/u>\u00a0users the external gateway will be\u00a0<u>removed<\/u>\u00a0as of April 15<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>For Non-Mount Sinai\u00a0<u>external<\/u>\u00a0collaborators the gateway will be\u00a0<u>removed<\/u>\u00a0as of April 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/minervalab\/minerva-pi-action-required-pis-need-to-request-access-for-external-collaborators-through-sailpoint\/\">If you are a PI and are sponsoring external users, please also see this post.<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions for Mount Sinai\u00a0<u>Internal<\/u>\u00a0Users:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t have a VPN account yet, please request a VPN account via SAILPOINT through Mount Sinai IT following the instructions at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/itsecurity.mssm.edu\/vpn-instructions\/outlook\/sailpoint-request\/\">https:\/\/itsecurity.mssm.edu\/vpn-instructions\/outlook\/sailpoint-request\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After you have acquired a VPN account you can follow these instructions to login to the VPN (<a href=\"https:\/\/itsecurity.mssm.edu\/vpn-instructions\/outlook\/vpn-step-3\/\">https:\/\/itsecurity.mssm.edu\/vpn-instructions\/outlook\/vpn-step-3\/<\/a> or greater details at <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210729132817\/https:\/\/itsecurity.mssm.edu\/\">https:\/\/itsecurity.mssm.edu\/ <\/a>) and then access Minerva as normal, using minerva.hpc.mssm.edu<\/p>\n<p>You can reach out to the IT Helpdesk here for assistance on VPN issues:<\/p>\n<p>By Phone: 1-212-241-7091<br \/>\nVia email:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ASCIT@mssm.edu\">ASCIT@mssm.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Firefox<\/strong> is the preferred browser for launching f5 software, while Chrome may sometimes have troubles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions on F5 setup on Linux (such as Ubuntu) system:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nOn your Ubuntu machine go to <a href=\"https:\/\/mshmsvpn.mssm.edu\/my.policy\">https:\/\/mshmsvpn.mssm.edu\/my.policy<\/a> and log in with your password \/ VIP token.\u00a0 The welcome page will have many boxes.\u00a0 Click on linux_deb\u00a0 and download the f5 software.\u00a0 Open a terminal on Ubuntu and move to the folder that contains the download, then: sudo apt install \/path\/to\/package\/name. deb\/opt\/f5 will be created.\u00a0 Click on &#8220;tunnel&#8221; and on the f5 popup, &#8220;Choose&#8221; \/opt\/f5\/vpn\/f5vpn and you should\u00a0 be in.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a part of our HIPAA compliance activities, we need to shut down the external gateway access to Minerva.
