These sessions are intended to familiarize you with the Minerva environment. Basic understanding of the general Unix operating environment is expected. Both in room <span style=\"color: #d60b8c\"><strong>Icahn L3-82<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/minervalab\/event\/minerva-tutorial-session-1-introduction-to-minerva\/\"><strong><em><u>Session 1: Wednesday, 11 March 2020 2:00-3:00PM \u2013 Introduction to Minerva <\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minerva resources<\/li>\n<li>Account and Logging in<\/li>\n<li>Software Environment Management<\/li>\n<li>File Transfers and data archive<\/li>\n<li>Basic job submission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/minervalab\/event\/minerva-tutorial-session-2-lsf-job-scheduler\/\"><strong><em><u>Session 2: Wednesday, 18 March 2020 2:00-3:00PM \u2013 LSF job scheduler<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic job submission and LSF command<\/li>\n<li>Self-scheduler<\/li>\n<li>Parallel jobs (job arrays, parallel processing and GPUs)<\/li>\n<li>Debugging<\/li>\n<li>Things to avoid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #221f72\"><strong>BODE2<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong><em><u>New GPFS file system for storage &#8211; Arion from BODE2<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new file system Arion is from the awarded BODE2, i.e., 11 petabytes of usable storage (14 PB raw, 1,008 total drives).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are integrating the flash into Arion for better performance on metadata processing.<\/li>\n<li>We will do an IO performance test\/benchmark on Arion.<\/li>\n<li>Start file transfer from Orga\/Hydra to Arion with AFM technology.<\/li>\n<li>It will be available to users in March.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>BODE2 compute nodes are open to all NIH funded projects since Dec 2019<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All <strong>NIH funded projects<\/strong> reported are eligible to run jobs on those <strong>extra<\/strong> <strong>78 BODE2 compute nodes<\/strong>. If you are running jobs under NIH funded projects, please make sure you use the correct project name in LSF to access the resources (i.e.,\u00a0 #BSUB -P acc_<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">xxx<\/span>). To check the eligibility of your project on BODE nodes, you can run \u201c<code>mybalance<\/code>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FYI: The BODE2 is consist of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3,840 24-core 2.9 GHz Cascade Lake 8268 processors in 80 nodes<\/li>\n<li>192 GB of memory per node<\/li>\n<li>240 GB of SSDs per node<\/li>\n<li>15 TB memory (collectively)<\/li>\n<li>11 petabytes of usable storage (14 PB raw, 1,008 total drives)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #221f72\"><strong>New home for Scientific Computing website <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The home of Scientific Computing at Mount Sinai has a new face!\u00a0 You will now be forwarded to <a href=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/minervalab\/\">https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/minervalab\/<\/a> to find an organized\u00a0 look and revised information. Please check the expiration date of your archived files. There is no simple command to extend the file expiration date. If you would like to keep these files, you will need to retrieve them to disk and archive again.
