Open OnDemand offers a fully compliant job management and desktop portal requiring minimal knowledge of Linux HPC environments and no end-user installation requirements other than an up-to-date web browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended).<\/p>\n<div class=\"hpc-callout hpc-callout-warning\"><strong>Logout Note:<\/strong> You will not be completely logged out of the Open OnDemand application until you both click on the logout icon and close the browser.<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<section class=\"hpc-section\">\n<h2 class=\"hpc-heading\">Getting Started<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"hpc-subheading\">Authentication<\/h3>\n<p>To authenticate into Open OnDemand, please use the same email address you entered in your OnDemand Profile on the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.hpc.mssm.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">annual form webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"hpc-video-badge\"><span class=\"hpc-video-label\">Minerva Training Video:<\/span><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/scpublic.dmz.hpc.mssm.edu\/HPC\/ondemand\/OnDemand_Form.mp4\">Complete OnDemand Profile for OnDemand authentication<\/a><br \/><span class=\"hpc-meta-pill\">Campus network \/ VPN required<\/span><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"hpc-subheading\">Logging Into the Minerva Web Portal<\/h3>\n<div class=\"hpc-callout hpc-callout-warning\"><strong>New Users:<\/strong> New user home directories are not created until the first login using standard SSH. If you are a new Minerva user, connect via SSH before attempting to access Open OnDemand to prevent a &#8220;missing home directory&#8221; error.<\/div>\n<ol class=\"hpc-ordered-list\">\n<li>Point your browser to <a href=\"https:\/\/ondemand.hpc.mssm.edu\/\">https:\/\/ondemand.hpc.mssm.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Login with your Mount Sinai username\/password and multi-factor authentication device.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"hpc-section\">\n<h2 class=\"hpc-heading\">Launching Interactive Desktop Job on a Compute Node<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"hpc-list\">\n<li>Click <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">Interactive Apps<\/span> &gt; <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">Chimera Desktop<\/span> on the menu bar.<\/li>\n<li>Select <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">OnDemand<\/span> queue for a desktop on the main cluster or <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">Private<\/span> queue to start on your private node.\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"hpc-nested-list\">\n<li>If <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">Private<\/span> queue is selected, pick your target node or select <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">First available<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Enter a valid Minerva <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">LSF project account<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">number of cores<\/span> <span class=\"hpc-meta\">(default: 1 core; max: 48; all cores on host=1)<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">memory per core in GB<\/span> <span class=\"hpc-meta\">(default: 1GB; max: 192GB; 0GB allocates the full node)<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">number of hours<\/span> <span class=\"hpc-meta\">(default: 1 hour; max: 6 days)<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Select email notification if desired.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <span class=\"hpc-btn-tag\">Launch<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"hpc-video-badge\"><span class=\"hpc-video-label\">Minerva Training Video:<\/span><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/scpublic.dmz.hpc.mssm.edu\/HPC\/ondemand\/OnDemand_ChimeraDesktop.mp4\">Access Chimera Desktop on OnDemand for a GUI application<\/a><br \/><span class=\"hpc-meta-pill\">Campus network \/ VPN required<\/span><\/div>\n<p>Submissions queue automatically and display under <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">My Interactive Sessions<\/span>. The status changes from <em>Submitted<\/em> to <em>Running<\/em> when ready.<\/p>\n<p>Click <span class=\"hpc-btn-tag\">Launch Chimera Desktop<\/span> to start the XFCE desktop. Use the left toolbar arrow for custom key commands and connection settings, or click the bottom <span class=\"hpc-ui-tag\">Terminal<\/span> icon.<\/p>\n<div class=\"hpc-callout hpc-callout-info\"><strong>Speed Tip:<\/strong> Navigating <code>\/sc\/arion\/work<\/code> can be slow.
