Our goal is to better understand the human mucosal immune system in health and in individuals with <b>mucosal inflammation (inflammatory bowel diseases), HIV and primary immunodeficiencies, and SARS-CoV-2 and viral disorders of the intestinal tract.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>While our laboratory\u2019s work emphasizes state-of-the-art technologies for patient-centered studies, we also employ animal models as appropriate, in order to develop mechanistic insights into human mucosal diseases. Additionally, we collaborate closely with investigators in the field of microbiome research as well as other immune mediated inflammatory disorders (IMIDs).
