For decades, women’s sexual health has been under-researched, with female sexual pleasure rarely treated as a measurable biological outcome.\u00a0 Key genitopelvic organs, including the bulboclitoris, have been excluded from anatomical atlases, imaging protocols, and treatment planning frameworks.\u00a0 Menopause has often been treated as a confounder rather than a core biological transition shaping tissue vulnerability.\u00a0 These omissions have led to preventable injury and incomplete care.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our research contributes to the next era of women’s health by addressing these gaps with biological precision, rigorous measurement, and clinically actionable frameworks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

#2 To redefine sexual organs at risk<\/strong> in genitopelvic and breast radiotherapy, including the bulboclitoris and neurovasculature, nipple\u2011areolar complex, and anal\/prostate structures<\/p>\n

#3 To d<\/strong>ecode mechanisms of radiation injury and resilience<\/strong> across menopause, sex, HIV status, and other dimensions of inequity using advanced imaging, spatial transcriptomics, and radiomics.<\/p>\n

#4 To d<\/strong>esign and test new interventions<\/strong>\u2014such as estrogen\u2011eluting vaginal hydrogels and other engineered solutions\u2014to prevent and reverse radiation\u2011induced and menopause-related sexual toxicities.<\/p>\n

#5 To advance LGBTQ+\u2011inclusive oncosexual health<\/strong>, generating data and tools that center pleasure, function, and autonomy for all survivors.<\/p>\n
