Isaac Marin-Valencia
Isaac aims to find effective treatments to halt disease progression and achieve maximum recovery in patients with neurometabolic conditions. He puts his team first because he believes taking care of people is essential to accomplish great things. He holds MD and MS degrees, specializes in neurometabolic disorders, and serves as the laboratory’s principal investigator.
Arif Kocabas
Arif is an experienced and enthusiastic scientist who dreams about making discoveries that revolutionize the molecular understanding of human diseases. He is channeling his efforts to accelerate the transition between the bench and the bedside to meaningfully impact patients’ lives. He completed his PhD in molecular biology and holds an associate researcher position in the laboratory.
Manuel Gonzalez-Rodriguez
Manuel is a successful entrepreneur in biotech, and brings his expertise to the laboratory, where he wants to raise the lab standards and procedures to industry levels. His purpose is to help patients with disability and mental diseases by getting a better understanding of the metabolic perspective, so he has devoted his career to research. He holds an MS in molecular biology, and is the Operative Director for the Neurometabolomics and Neurobioinformatics Core.
Jake Vaynshteyn
Jake is a resourceful researcher with a decade-long experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and biomedical engineering with the ultimate goal of helping people with neurometabolic diseases and improving their quality of life. He holds a BE in biomedical engineering, occupies an associate researcher position in the laboratory, and is an operative member of the Neurometabolomics and Neurobioinformatics Core.
Watit Sostising
Watit’s goal is to integrate chemistry and computer science to advance the understanding and treatment of disabilities. Leveraging his expertise in analytical chemistry, he has developed a spatial metabolomics platform and created R packages for analyzing complex data. With his industry experience, he brings strategic advantages to laboratory operations. As an expert in method development and data analysis, he also contributes to the Neurometabolomics & Neuroinformatics Core. He currently holds a postdoctoral position in the lab, where he is committed to driving impactful research and advancing efforts to beat disabilities.
Carlos Rodriguez-Navas
Carlos is passionate about the Chemistry behind Life. He developed a robust metabolomics platform to identify new disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets which is helping translate promising findings to the clinic. He completed his PhD in analytical chemistry and is a consultant at Neurometabolomics and Neurobioinformatics Core.
