Currently, there are\u00a0<strong>no<\/strong>\u00a0such opening available for the summer 2019. Promising mentees are encouraged and will be mentored to apply for the <a href=\"http:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/education\/non-degree\/surp\">Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)<\/a>\u00a0or the <a href=\"http:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/education\/non-degree\/prep\">Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP)<\/a>\u00a0at Mount Sinai.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Predoctoral<\/strong>: Dr. Xu participates as training faculty in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/education\/phd\/biomedical-sciences\/neuroscience\">Neuroscience (NEU)<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/education\/phd\/biomedical-sciences\/biophysics-pharma\">Biophysics and Systems Pharmacology (BSP)<\/a> multidisciplinary training area (MTA) of the <a href=\"http:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/education\/phd\/biomedical-sciences\">PhD program<\/a>\u00a0at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Prospective graduate students should apply through the <a href=\"http:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/education\/phd\/biomedical-sciences\">PhD<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/education\/dual-specialty\/md-phd\/admissions\">MD\/PhD<\/a> programs of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Mount Sinai, and indicate \u00a0NEU or BSP as their primary training area. Every year, there is <strong>one<\/strong> opening of laboratory rotation for first year graduate students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Postdoctoral<\/strong>: Currently there are no <a href=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/junqianxulab\/positions\/\">positions<\/a> for postdoctoral fellows in Dr. Xu&#8217;s lab. However, prospective postdoctoral fellow candidates interested in joining Dr. Xu&#8217;s lab are encouraged to email Dr. Xu about their research ideas. To maximize the postdoctoral training value, doctoral students close to the end of their dissertation defense are highly encouraged to contact Dr. Xu at least 3-6 months before the deadline of postdoctoral <a href=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/junqianxulab\/fellowship\/\">fellowship opportunities<\/a>\u00a0to allow sufficient time to develop postdoctoral fellowship proposals together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Medical<\/strong>: Clinical fellows, residents, or <a href=\"http:\/\/icahn.mssm.edu\/education\/medical\/research\/msro\">medical students<\/a> at Mount Sinai interested in gaining research experience in neuroimaging are encouraged to contact Dr. Xu for suitable research projects. Promising mantees are encouraged and will be mentored to apply for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rsna.org\/Research_Resident_Grant.aspx\">RSNA Research Resident\/Fellow Grant<\/a>,\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rsna.org\/Research_Medical_Student_Grant.aspx\">RSNA Research Medical Student Grant<\/a>, or the <a href=\"http:\/\/alphaomegaalpha.org\/student_research.html\">Alpha Omega Alpha Student Research Fellowship<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Undergraduate:\u00a0Every year, Dr. Xu&#8217;s lab hosts up to two\u00a0undergraduate students in STEM related fields to participate in summer research projects.
