Mirror Exposure
We are examining the potential for an additive effect of a medication in mirror exposure treatment for body image disturbance in individuals with eating disorders. The medication, d-cycloserine, is an antibiotic shown to enhance learning in exposure treatments for anxiety disorders.
Participants are randomly assigned to receive d-cycloserine orĀ a placebo. All participants complete 6 sessions: a baseline/psychiatric assessment, a psychoeducational session, a 4-week mirror exposure treatment and administration of placebo/study drug, and a 1 month follow up visit.
Compensation for participation will be $50.
