The VTA is a major part of the brain&#8217;s reward circuitry. Dr. Han will investigate how cells in the lateral hypothalamus, a brain area involved in the body and brain&#8217;s responses to stress, communicate with the VTA.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-51\" src=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/hanlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2015\/08\/Research-Society-on-Alcoholism.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"32\" height=\"50\" \/>Barbara Juarez received the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rsoa.org\/2015meet-AwardInstructions.htm\">Student Merit Award from the Research Society on Alcoholism<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-52\" src=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/hanlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2015\/08\/society-for-neuroscience.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"29\" \/>Barbara Juarez was accepted into the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfn.org\/careers-and-training\/diversity-programs\/neuroscience-scholars-program\">Neuroscience Scholars Program from SfN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>2014<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-109\" src=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/hanlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2015\/08\/ACNP.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"50\" height=\"55\" \/>Ming-Hu Han was elected to The American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) during its annual meeting in December. The ACNP is a premier professional society in brain, behavior, and psychopharmacology research in the United States.
