Nicholas Gulati, MD, PhD<\/strong>
Assistant Professor, Dermatology | Director, Early Detection of Skin Cancer Clinic | Director, Oncodermatology Clinic<\/p>\n

Dr. Gulati is a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in melanoma and other skin cancers. His PhD thesis was on topical melanoma immunotherapy, and he has advanced training in state-of-the-art methods for early detection of skin cancers. He also has a particular interest in oncodermatology, the management of skin conditions that result from cancer treatments.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gulati graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University. He earned an MD from Weill Cornell Medical College and a PhD from Rockefeller University, a global leader in biomedical research. Dr. Gulati completed his medical internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, one of the nation\u2019s leading cancer hospitals, and his dermatology residency at NYU. As a resident, Dr. Gulati was awarded the Husik Prize for best research paper and the Lipkin Prize, presented to the resident who is an excellent clinician with scholarly interest and research productivity.<\/p>\n

Brandon is a fourth-year MD student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2022 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in biology and classical studies. His research interests center around novel therapeutic strategies for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, as well as the immunologic mechanisms underlying cutaneous adverse drug reactions. Outside of the lab, Brandon enjoys running in Central Park, listening to podcasts, and trying out new dessert recipes.<\/p>\n

Grace is a MD\/MSCR student in the PORTAL program at Mount Sinai. She studied Human Biology and Health Policy at Stanford, where she discovered her passion for pediatric dermatology and health advocacy. Her current research focuses on identifying RNA biomarkers in morbilliform drug rashes using noninvasive techniques. Outside the lab, Grace is dedicated to making health education fun and accessible for kids\u2014she wrote\u00a0Sage\u2019s Sun Safe Adventure<\/i>, a children\u2019s book about sun safety, and supports children with autism in adaptive ballet classes. When she\u2019s not researching or writing, you\u2019ll find her running half marathons, making a\u00e7a\u00ed bowls, or curating Taylor Swift playlists for every mood.<\/p>\n

Aleksa<\/span>\u00a0is a native New Yorker and medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.\u00a0Aleksa<\/span>\u00a0received a bachelor’s degree from Brown University in 2018 and later completed the Specialized Studies program at the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. Prior to medical school,\u00a0Aleksa<\/span>\u00a0worked as a dermatology medical assistant in private practice and clinical research coordinator at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, working specifically in emergency medicine and trauma surgery. Prior to joining Mount Sinai,\u00a0Aleksa<\/span>‘s dermatologic research interests focused on pediatric hidradenitis suppurativa as well as medical education. In the Gulati Lab,\u00a0Aleksa<\/span>‘s research interests center on oncodermatology and immunobullous disease. In her free time,\u00a0Aleksa<\/span> enjoys running, Pilates, and spending time with her two nieces, Isla and Hayden.<\/p>\n

Hannah<\/span>\u00a0is a medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She previously graduated from Yale University in 2021 with a BA in Political Science.\u00a0Hannah<\/span>\u2019s research interests include inflammatory skin diseases and oncodermatology. This year, in the Gulati Lab,\u00a0Hannah<\/span>\u00a0is studying the treatment and characterization of cutaneous neurofibromas, amongst other varied topics. Jade Young<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jade received her Bachelor of Science in human physiology from the Robert. D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon in 2017, where she completed a distinguished thesis investigating the effect of circadian rhythm physiology on metabolic profile. In 2019, she matriculated as a medical student at Oregon Health and Science University and plans to receive her medical doctorate in 2024. Jade has a particular interest in performing research that aligns with her passion for public health and equitable access to health care. She is currently investigating the efficacy of skin cancer education outreach initiatives and outcomes for a human rights clinic that provides medical evaluations to refugees and asylum seekers. Outside of the lab, she enjoys seeking new adventures through rock climbing and hiking, recharging at home with cooking and painting, and is always on the lookout for opportunities to see live music.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 2019, Camille\u2019s academic journey led her to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, where she completed her first three years of medical school. Eager to delve deeper into the world of dermatology, she moved to New York City for a yearlong research fellowship in Mount Sinai\u2019s dermatology department. Camille has multiple research interests within dermatology, including understanding the pathophysiology underlying skin conditions resulting from systemic chemo- and immunotherapy, women\u2019s health-related dermatology, and the impact of social determinants of health on access to care, medication adherence, and overall outcomes. Ultimately, she aims to understand how to adequately treat cancer-treatment-related skin conditions so that patients may remain on their life-saving therapies, empower women to navigate their dermatological concerns with confidence, and advocate for comprehensive and equitable healthcare for all. During her downtime, you may find Camille experimenting with flavors in the kitchen, spending time outdoors with friends, exploring new restaurants in the city, playing frisbee with her mini aussie Ollie, dancing, or doing art.<\/p>\n

Jeremy received a bachelor\u2019s degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2013 and later completed the premedical post-baccalaureate program at Columbia University. Jeremy\u2019s previous work included coordinating a multi-center retrospective study on the comparative effectiveness of metformin for type 2 diabetes in patients with chronic kidney disease. Jeremy also served as the project coordinator for a multi-disciplinary project on the role of nurses in global pandemics, traveling to Liberia and Sierra Leone to record oral histories from nurses who had served during the Ebola Crisis. Jeremy\u2019s current focus is at the intersection of dermatology and neurology. At Cornell, Jeremy\u2019s research has focused on the use of local anesthetics in Dermatologic surgery. This year, in the Gulati Lab, Jeremy is studying the treatment cutaneous neurofibromas, among other projects. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys hiking, fishing and cooking.<\/p>\n
