The pain intensifies\u00a0and sometimes spreads to\u00a0new places. Suddenly\u00a0you&#8217;re\u00a0dealing with bloating, digestive issues, and a whole constellation of symptoms that seem to arrive right on\u00a0schedule\u00a0(!).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Today,\u00a0we\u00a0are\u00a0sharing\u00a0some\u00a0observations from the very data dashboard of\u00a0our data wizard-in-residence, Samia, as we continue to analyze the data from our CPP Tracker study.\u00a0The visualizations reveal striking patterns comparing participants with\u00a0and without\u00a0CPPDs\u00a0and\u00a0support\u00a0what so many have experienced but struggled to quantify: periods\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0just add pain for people with CPP\u2014they amplify\u00a0what&#8217;s\u00a0already there.\u00a0So here they come, straight from Samia\u2019s dashboard to your screen.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">The Numbers Don&#8217;t Lie: Period Days Hit Different<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:299,&quot;335559739&quot;:299}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Let&#8217;s\u00a0start with the most striking finding. Among our participants with CPPDs,\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">83.8% of period days involved pain<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0That&#8217;s\u00a0more than 8 out\u00a0of\u00a0\u00a010\u00a0days\u00a0during menstruation.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Compare that to those without\u00a0CPPDs: just 12% of their period days involved pain.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But wait\u2014you might be thinking\u2014people with CPPDs\u00a0experience\u00a0pain on non-period days too, right?\u00a0Absolutely.\u00a0The\u00a0data\u00a0indicate\u00a0that\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">75.3%<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0of non-period days involved pain for the CPPDs\u00a0group. But\u00a0here&#8217;s\u00a0what&#8217;s\u00a0fascinating: abdomen, hip, and vaginal pain all increased during menstruation too.\u00a0When viewing the chart above, you can see that for those without CPPD, the\u00a0pain they have\u00a0off period\u00a0in these locations\u00a0is quite low,\u00a0whereas\u00a0if you look\u00a0at\u00a0their pain\u00a0during their period there is a large \u201cjump\u201d\u00a0in those locations.\u00a0\u00a0Compared to those without a CPPD diagnosis, participants\u00a0with a CPPD\u00a0who have ongoing pain see an increase, but their baseline of\u00a0pain\u00a0when they are not on their periods\u00a0is so much higher.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">The Symptom Cascade: When Pain Brings Friends<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:299,&quot;335559739&quot;:299}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As if increased pain\u00a0wasn&#8217;t\u00a0enough,\u00a0a visual inspection in our data dashboard reveals\u00a0that\u00a0periods often trigger a cascade of other symptoms.
