Louis is a lifelong Boston sports fan having grown up in Newton, Massachusetts. He went to undergraduate school at the University of Pennsylvania where he began working in clinical research at the Children\u2019s Hospital of Philadelphia in their Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center. Louis moved back to Boston for his medical education at Tufts University followed by residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Continuing his goal of caring for patients with IBD he did his gastroenterology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City where Burrill Crohn first described Crohn\u2019s disease years ago. He then began formal training in basic\/translational research as part of a program in translational science at Rockefeller University in the laboratory of Sean Brady. Louis continues to care for patients with IBD in his clinic at the Feinstein IBD Center at Mount Sinai and his laboratory focuses on the development of novel live biotherapeutic and cellular therapies for the treatment of Crohn\u2019s disease. He still loves his Boston sports teams along with cooking, exploring restaurants in New York City, skiing and live music<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-210 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/cohenlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/213\/2025\/04\/DanielaG-e1745012875443.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.mountsinai.org\/daniela-i-guisado\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Daniela Guisado, MD<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a><strong>Instructor, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Daniela grew up in Dryden, NY and received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University and her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine.\u00a0 She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at New York Presbyterian- Weill Cornell and a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Mount Sinai. She is passionate about treating children with inflammatory bowel disease and her research focus is currently in investigating the role of hematopoietic stem cells in the pathogenesis and treatment of refractory Crohn&#8217;s disease. Originally from Varanasi, India, Dr. Singh earned his Bachelor&#8217;s degree from Amity University Lucknow, followed by a Master\u2019s from BITS Pilani. He then pursued a PhD at the University of Freiburg in Germany. Outside the laboratory he enjoys traveling, cooking, watching anime, and delving into cultural histories and beliefs. I also like jogging in the park, exploring new gadgets, and following sports such as Cricket, Football, and Formula 1.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-215 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/labs.icahn.mssm.edu\/cohenlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/213\/2025\/04\/Katherine_Cook-e1745012831598.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"201\" \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Katherine Cook<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Research Associate, Cohen Laboratory<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Katherine is a research associate in the Cohen Laboratory. Katharine grew up in NYC and recently graduated from Williams College. She joined the lab as an associate researcher in the fall of 2024 and is interested in mucosal immunity and the role of IGF-1 in intestinal healing. Sayali is originally from india and has a master\u2019s degree in Bioinformatics. Sayali has extensive expertise in single cell sequencing methods and supports this infrastructure within the Cohen Laboratory and passionately leveraging bioinformatics to uncover meaningful insights in gene expression. Katha completed medical school and practiced for several years in India before moving to the USA where she focused on clinical research in gastrointestinal diseases.
