Jaime Chu, M.D.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Principal Investigator\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Jaime Chu is the Mount Sinai Endowed Professor of Pediatric Liver Research, the Associate Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hepatology, Medical Director of Pediatric Liver Transplantation, and Director of the Pediatric Physician-Scientist Residency Program at Mount Sinai Kravis Children\u2019s Hospital and the Recanati\/Miller Transplantation Institute at Mount Sinai, where she mentors resident and fellow trainees interested in pursuing a career as a physician-scientist.<\/p>\n

Dr. Chu received her B.A.\u00a0magna cum laude<\/i> from Harvard University and her M.D. from New York University School of Medicine. \u00a0She completed her General Pediatrics residency training at Northwestern University\/Children\u2019s Memorial Hospital (now Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago) at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, and her fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition both at Children\u2019s Memorial Hospital and at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. In her undergrad, Dr. Chu was a history major and a semi-professional division I soccer player. Nowadays she prefers the game from the sidelines, watching her sons play.<\/p>\n

Assistant Professor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Charlie obtained his B.S. from Stony Brook. University and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Glycobiology from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. His work focuses on the role of sugar metabolism pathways in human HSC proliferation and liver fibrosis. In his free time, Charlie likes to play the guitar, cook up some new recipes, ski, and read up on modern physics and mathematics to someday unify general relativity and quantum mechanics. He also has a private pilot license.<\/p>\n

John received his B.A.\u00a0cum laude<\/i> from Dartmouth College and his M.D. from SUNY Stony Brook University. He is currently studying the effects of mannose on CCL4-induced liver fibrosis. When not in the lab,\u00a0John enjoys playing guitar, exploring restaurants in NYC, going to sporting events, and watching TV shows.<\/p>\n

Poulomi Dey, Ph.D.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Postdoctoral Scientist<\/strong><\/p>\n

Poulomi received her BE in biotechnology from Rv College of Engineering, Bangalore and her PhD from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India. She is currently investigating the role of mannose on the regulation of hepatokines and stellatokines and their implications on the Liver Brain Axis. Apart from academics, Poulomi has a bachelor\u2019s degree in Kathak Dance, Ravindra Sangeet and Fine Arts and avidly practices them all. In her free time Poulomi loves to watch documentaries and go out and enjoy nature.<\/p>\n
