This study involves taking blood, saliva and\/or skin samples from participants.<\/p>\n<p>Participants are expected to be involved in the study for 15 years. Involvement includes reading and signing a consent form that acknowledges the participant\u2019s willingness to give a blood (3 \u2013 4 tablespoons during each blood draw) during 1 \u2013 2 subsequent visits.<\/p>\n<p>Specifics on the risks and discomforts associated with blood draws are detailed in the consent form that is given to participants during the first visit or sent via mail\/email.<\/p>\n<p>Blood draws will take place at the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai or local phlebotomy lab if you live far away from our institution.<\/p>\n<p>This study has been approved under the Mount Sinai Program for the Protection of Human Subjects (PPHS) under GCO#16-2731.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; IRB APPROVED STUDY: \u201cInvestigating Genetics in Suspected Congenital Syndromes\u201d If you have unusual infectious or autoimmune features or are diagnosed with a known syndrome but without an identified genetic cause, we are looking to recruit and investigate people like you.
