Nearly all human diseases have an immune basis as a component of their pathology. Our lab focus on how the immune system contributes to development of several diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease and cancer. To study the effect of particular immune molecules and cells to disease development we use mouse models, modern molecular biology tools and imaging techniques. We also study how immune cells are affected by the microbiota that is associated with the gastrointestinal tract and its impact on homeostasis and pathogenesis.
